Are eight double chests of eggs too much? Maybe? A little?

I keep hoarding them because I think “oh, I’ll need tons of eggs once I get my chicken farm up proper” but then.. never build the chicken farm. So I just have 30 or so chickens sitting on stop of a stewing pot in my base, surrounded by a ton of chests. 

Those poor cramped chickens.
